Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of emergency preparedness programs within the organization. This role ensures the organization is prepared to respond to a wide variety of emergencies, such as natural disasters, fire, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, or other crisis situations, by creating effective plans, conducting training, and coordinating emergency responses. Must be willing to travel for required meetings and trainings up to 20% of the time.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in emergency management, safety, or a related field.
• Understanding of emergency response plans, crisis management, and safety protocols.
• Ability to assess risks and plan effectively for diverse emergency situations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• EMT certification- required or EMS licensed- preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required or obtained within 6 months of employment.
• BLS instructor preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
